MoodRing Edition I

Carnegie Center for Art & History

2022

“What’s the mood?” That’s the driving question behind MoodRing, a brand new literary arts zine serving our friends across the river in Southern Indiana. Not just any people though, MoodRing delves into capturing the ever-changing mood of teens, specifically 9th through 12th grades students in Floyd, Clark and Harrison counties. Having trimmed down over one-hundred submissions to thirty pieces of visual art and writing, this zine’s connecting aesthetic is an explosion of creative physicality. Stamps, cut paper, paint, tape, and even little stickers provide backing for and surround each piece of art, which themselves are equally varied. With a start as great as this, we’re excited to see where this zine goes next! Considering Printed’s 18+ submission barrier, MoodRing almost feels like a younger sibling.
